Our 
Story

SpiriTree Movement was born out of a lifetime  love of working with people.  We hope to help you create movement practices that enrich your Spirit and give you a sense of appreciation for your body.



   

Meet Rebecca

Movement is my love language. My passion for movement began early as I developed appreciation for dance. My movement practice has taken twists, turns, leaps, and pauses as invites me to expand. My passion is to offer support and guidance to help people develop and nurture joy in moving.  

 

My motto is: Breathe to move, move to live.

I believe regular movement enhances joy, expands physical and spiritual balance, and provides an outlet for creativity and healing. Over the past 25 years teaching movement, I have witnessed the power it has to holistically enrich lives and bring people together. I am grateful for my journey teaching and moving in a way that expands my capacity for navigating the waves of life. Yoga, tai chi, qigong, dance, and breathing practices have offered healing and comfort in seasons of grief, depression, and anxiety. 
 

I truly enjoy teaching and practicing styles of mindful movement that call on deep body wisdom and fullness of being alive. I love moving outside and often benefit from the saying, move a muscle change a thought. It has worked for me countless times!  I continue to learn and build on formal and informal educational experiences.  

Education, certifications and expertise include:

  • E-RYT 500 hour with Yoga Alliance

  • Certified Tai Chi Instructor with Tai Chi for Health Institute

  • Medical Exercise Specialist and Personal Trainer with American Council on Exercise

  • Group Fitness Instructor with National Association of Sports Medicine

  • Specialty trainings - Breath as Medicine, Senior Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Creative Dance, Tai Chi for Rehabilitation

  • MA, Exercise Sport Science

  • BS, Sociology
