Dy·nam·ic Def·i·ni·tion

The day begins with darkness and silence. I sit and wait for it to be a reasonable time to get out of bed. My mind is busy with the to do lists and the residue of the night; so I breathe a bit, say a prayer of gratitude, and shake and wiggle before my feet hit the floor.
Waking up to this concept of dynamic definition started early on in my life. I wanted things to be clear, direct, to be undeniably certain...but I started to realize time and time again, that definitions are not fixed, relationships are dynamic. The ones with myself, with other people and beings, and with the cosmic soup we're all a part of (as a dear friend puts it).
And this extends to movement of body, mind, and Spirit. The ebb and flow of being tethered to an idea or image of how my body wants to move on a certain day tends to limit me from experiencing joy in my movement and peace in my mind. Yes, I do believe in patterns... our blood follows the pattern of mini highways throughout our bodies and our breath flows in and out in synchronisty with the rhythm of the heartbeat, as Spirit moves in rhythm with the world around it. Where do you see dynamic definitions unfolding in your life? Your movement practice? Wellness journey? Where do you want to see it unfold?
